CARBON CONSULTING
Groom Energy assists its customers with a variety of carbon related projects including building GHG inventories, assessing where reductions are possible, identifying product and business supply chains for opportunities to become more environmentally efficient and designing internal employee and student awareness and behavior training programs. Specifically, our Carbon Consulting service offerings include:
GHG Inventory, Reporting and Strategy
A GHG inventory or “carbon footprint” is an important first step in understanding your organization’s collective climate impact. Consistent with the protocols set by the World Resources Institute, a GHG inventory determines boundary conditions, energy sources (factories, fleets, buildings), emissions standards and thresholds, and is an important starting point for climate and stakeholder strategy. With the inventory developed, GES can help your team by developing an overall climate strategy and risk assessment. This will include benchmarking your GHG emission levels and reporting programs to stakeholders and NGOs, including mandatory and voluntary GHG programs such as the Carbon Disclosure Project, EPA’s Climate Leaders program, The Climate Registry, and the California Air Review Board, among others. It also includes developing programs to improve your current inventory by evaluating various technologies and offsets available and their environmental and economic returns.

Green Programs for Employees and Students
Many organizations are struggling today both with identifying how to change behavior within their organizations and market their environmental progress to their employees (especially customer-facing employees) and students. The Groom Energy team can develop the programs, marketing materials and software systems to address many of these efforts, which typically are under-resourced inside the enterprise.

Greening Your Supply Chain Consulting
With the emerging development of WRI protocols for your broader GHG emissions impact, it is more clear that your enterprise will soon be judged on both your operation impact AND the impact of your products and services to the environment. Many companies are continually studying the materials, transportation, packaging and life cycle of the products and services they deliver to their customers in an effort to refine and reduce their impact and Groom Energy can assist with them with both this business and technical process.
