SALEM, Mass. September 28, 2010 – Groom Energy Solutions, provider of commercial and industrial energy solutions, today announced that it has been awarded a utility patent from the U.S. Patent and Trademark office for its GES Hybrid lighting product. The award comes as Groom Energy ships the 20,000th unit of the product this month.

The GES Hybrid enables the rapid retrofit of an existing commercial light fixture, boosting light output while reducing energy consumption by 50 percent. The Underwriter Laboratories listed design also reduces waste and installation cost by reusing the housing and electrical connection of the existing light fixture. Groom Energy and its resellers have performed GES Hybrid installations in more than 26 states across the U.S. with customers averaging a 12 month annual financial return on the investment.

Additionally, Groom Energy has renewed its relationship with Standard Parking Corporation, helping to reduce the energy consumption at many of their client facilities using the GES Hybrid product. Retrofit projects have already been completed at Standard Parking sites in: New Orleans, LA., Minneapolis, MN. and Columbus, OH.
